This wormwood amulet is cast in sterling silver from a mugwort leaf I personally grew from seed. The pendant is approximately 1.5″ tall, and comes on your choice of a black satin cord or a 20″ sterling silver chain.
Wormwood is an extremely bitter herb most famous for it’s use in the creation of absinthe. It is associated with the goddess Artemis along with mugwort through it’s genus Artemisia. Paul Sedir in his Occult Botany places it under Mars. He states, “This herb is a receptacle of the lower astral realm. In a certain sense, it could justly be described as “the hashish of the West.” Its flowering tops, when prepared spagyrically, can be used to attain certain altered states of consciousness and psychic awareness.” Nicholas Culpeper, speaking of wormwood, says “This herb testifies, that Mars is willing to cure all diseases he causes; the truth is, Mars loves no cowards, nor Saturn fools, nor I neither.”
